The FMU Series
CNC coiling and bending machines

These
new types of machines have been designed for high speed generation of
precise springs and parts in all shapes.
Operating principle
- Being guided through
a horizontal/vertical straightener, the wire is fed into the machine.
The movement of the rotating wire is CNC controlled to guarantee exact
positioning of the wire against the tools.
- The basic machine
is equipped with 7 independently programmable axes with servo drives:
- 2 for the rotating
wire feed
- 2 for the combined
coiling/bending unit
- 1 for universal
slides
- 1 for spinner
support
- 1 for free
choice
For the swivel quill one more axis is indispensable. Options for
4 more axes are available.
- The machine carries
four individual base tables to accept additional universal slides or
accessories. These slides may be mounted in any position whatsoever
- transversable, tiltable or two side by side. The universal slides
do also serve as base units for spinner attachment.
- The multipurpose
tooling system can easily be interlinked with the bending system. Thus
even parts with complex 3D structures can be generated with the standard
tooling set, and without additional set up time. Programming is done
in seconds by the Windows based WPS system.
What
makes the machine so unique?
- The combination
of rotating feed and swivel quill dramatically reduces secondary operations:
less slides and less tools; no more supports, plates, guides etc.
- Its plain language
programming system. By assigning actual measurements to basic elements
like infeed length, spring diameters, number of coils and bending angles,
the WPS will create a complete operating program in seconds using a
library of standard tooling for all material data.
- The FMU design
brings down set up time to fractions of usual standards resulting in
unmatched output figures when working batch production.
- Trouble shooting
by picture presentation and inbuilt "help routines"
